Frequently Asked Questions
How do I purchase from you?
Where is the furniture made and shipped from?
Every item is shipped from and handmade in Salt Lake City, Utah.
What is the turnaround time?
Generally orders are completed and shipped in 4-6 weeks. Custom orders may take longer.
Is any assembly required?
All furniture ships completely assembled except for beds, which are completely pre-fit before shipping — ensuring a solid construction.
The headboards and footboards of each bed do ship assembled. However, we use a matching number system which identifies the correct location for the side and support logs. This greatly expedites the process of assembling the bed and eliminates any guesswork. Other than bolts and nuts, no metal parts are used.
For customers in Utah we can often arrange for on site assembly for an additional fee.
Can I have it customized?
Absolutely! Contact us, letting us know what you have in mind, and we can make it happen.
Many pieces are also easily customizable with different variations of slate tile, barnwood, and iron inlays. Dimensions can be altered too.
Different stains are also available and can provide a more uniform look between pieces.
Quality and Craftsmanship:
Is it real, solid wood?
With very few exceptions each piece is made from 100% solid wood. Others may cut costs by using cheaper materials such as pressed wood, but we don’t compromise our reputation of quality in any way. The construction can withstand the test of time and heavy use, guaranteeing that your investment is one well worth making.
Small cracks and checks are natural characteristics of the logs we harvest. They will all be completely formed by the time we manufacture the furniture and do not compromise the stability or function of our products.
Reclaimed lumber may include different wood colors and textures.
We harvest our own wood and see it through until each piece is finished and shipped. This allows us to employ the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
How are the pieces finished?
Each piece is finished with a clear lacquer that will protect against stains, spills and decay.
Due to natural variation, each piece of wood has its own unique coloring and characteristics, for this reason we do not attempt to “match” wood in a piece or set. We do have different stains available which can be applied before the final lacquer to aid color conformity.
How do you harvest the wood?
We only use wood from renewable and environmentally friendly resources. Many of the trees we harvest are dead standing. Our barnwood line uses reclaimed wood that would otherwise go to waste.
Do the drawers slide well?
On the Aspen, Premium Log, Barnwood and most Outlaw pieces, we use heavy duty, steel ball-bearing glides which can hold up to 100 pounds.
The drawers are heavy duty and are built with a four-sided box to which the faces are attached. As the drawers are built by hand, each one is numbered to specifically match its location, ensuring a great fit every time. Everything we build is designed to last a lifetime.
