QUALITY FEATURES
Our philosophy in building furniture throughout the years has remained constant - build to last in a style that will endure and continue to please. Our quality features are constant with our different furniture lines - excellent workmanship and materials, balanced design, carefully selected accessorial features, ease of set-up (beds only) and ease of maintenance. Of equal importance are two other elements - build and shipping schedules that are met and over-all superior customer service. In combination, these things have allowed us remarkable growth for which we are very appreciative to all our valued clients. An important part of our business is that each piece of furniture is completely made by hand - preparation of the logs and wood, cutting the components and building to finishing and staging before receipt by the customer. Because of this we stress that standard measurements given can vary slightly although specific custom measurements will be met. All of our beds are complete units in that they include a finished support system on which to place the box springs and mattress. Each bed is pre-fit before leaving our facility. The log beds are finished with plugs which allow the owner to access the bolting system in the event of a move. The dressers, nightstands and other case goods are all made from solid wood - no pressed wood or veneers. The tops are solid wood which means no nasty surprises if you damage the top and attempt to sand it down. (you cannot refinish pressed wood or veneer tops) However, plywood is used on the drawer bottoms and are inserted into grooved sides and back and then stapled and glued under high pressure which keeps them firmly in place. To our knowledge we have never had a drawer bottom come out. Additionally our furniture is braced to keep it squared for years of use and moving. The finishes used are chosen to highlight the natural beauty of the wood and are all applied by hand. Following are additional features that are unique to the type of furniture being built. PREMIUM LOG This is the top of the line lodgepole log furniture. Six-inch corner posts are used on the beds and the bolting system fits into metal sleeves to prevent stripping. Pedestals are used under the support logs to give additonal support to the user, and to stabilize the bed All of the furniture features full log framing and the tops all have a half log trim. Full extension, steel ball bearing glides with a 100 pound capacity, allows for an easy gliding system. The Premium Log products offer many choices - clean or rustic (partial bark) finish, clear or stained, hand-cut drawknife finish or many custom options for size and finishes. SLIMLINE LOG This line was designed to accommodate smaller spaces but offers the same materials, finshes and custom choices as the Premium Log line. The corner posts for the beds are a five inch log and traditional bolting is used. Pedestals also come with the Slimline beds. The furniture is built with traditional framing but also features a framework of log. The tops do not have the half-log trim. European glides with a 3/4 inch extension are used on the drawers. This line also offers a very cost-effective choice from the premium furniture. ASPEN Aspen is appreciated because of the natural curving and twisting of the wood. because of this, it is more labor intensive as each individual log is prepped and finished completely by hand. Full extension, steel ball-bearing glides are used on the aspen furniture. Finishes are carefully selected to enhance the beauty of the individual pieces of aspen furniture. BARNWOOD Using reclaimed barnwood offers a new set of challenges with dirt, embedded gravel, rusty nails and old paint-all elements which must be cleaned up before the wood can be used. After many time consuming processes, we usually uncover beautiful wood that can not be duplicated with a new purchase. Again, we use the full-extension ball-bearing glides on the drawers. Solid wood planks form the support system on the beds. We enjoy the creation of new furniture from old wood and constantly work to improve our ability to work with it. Overall, we are constantly alert to new building techniques, new designs, new systems and new materials which will enhance that which we currently use and offer. The bottom line is this - your continued satisfaction is out priority. We would not succeed without you. Thank you, from Utah Mountain Furniture. |
